Super affiliates are affiliate marketers who earn obscene amounts of money by simply referring others to certain products and/or services. While Internet marketing isn't for everyone, there are wonderful benefits to implementing affiliate programs on one's website; such as extra streams of income. But how do you choose the right program and what do you do once you've picked the affiliate program? These short tips offer some insight.

Tips for earning top-notch income with affiliate programs:

  1. Join affiliate programs that only relate to the theme of your website.

  2. Find affiliate programs that give you a good return for all your hard work. Commissions between 25% and 50% are ideal if you plan to heavily promote an affiliate program through advertising. If you simply plan to place a link on your site and wait for the sales to come in, consider programs that offer a residual income, versus a one-shot deal.

  3. Know your target audience and only offer affiliate programs that relate to that target audience.

  4. Invest your time, creativity, and money in promoting these affiliate programs.

  5. Increase traffic to the webpage or websites showcasing the affiliate programs.

  6. Add relevant content that enhances the reasons to purchase that particular product or service.

  7. Give your readers specifics as to why this product or service works.

  8. Get to know the product by purchasing it yourself, so that you know which strong points to focus on in your ad campaigns.

  9. Place real testimonies on your website from people who have actually purchased the product or service through you.

  10. Understand that affiliate programs are not easy moneymakers, just like any business, they need to be promoted.

  11. Do not spam people with your affiliate link—not in emails, not on message boards, and not in chat rooms—if you can answer a legitimate question by referring someone to your affiliate, then do so tactfully.

  12. Send out time-sensitive announcements about your affiliate program in newsletters or ads.

  13. Use your affiliate link in your signature line and change it every so often, to keep it fresh.

  14. Distribute a free e-book or pamphlet with your affiliate link(s) inside.

  15. Log in to your affiliate account from time to time and see what's new.

  16. Don't spread yourself too thin between too many affiliate programs and/or businesses.

  17. Since affiliate programs can draw traffic away from your site, have the links open up in another window.

  18. Make sure the programs you place on your site are worth promoting. It is your reputation on the line.

  19. Make sure the affiliate program you are promoting doesn't have another buy option or links to other products and pages within your affiliate page.

  20. When promoting your affiliate program through pay-per-click (ppc) advertisements make sure your ad lands on the web page you are advertising. In other words, if your ad is about vellum paper products your ppc ad should include a link directly to your vellum paper web page, not your home page.
So what do you do with those free websites, ads, and banners you were given when you signed up? Use them as a basis for designing your own unique ads, websites, and/or banners. Don't forget to link to those free websites as many companies offering free websites or web pages, require sales go through them.
