If you can DREAM it, you can DO it.
-- Walt Disney
The Introduction
First, I would like to say that while this book was written with the mother in mind, the same questions and steps could be applied by
anyone. It is my prayer that this book will open your eyes to all the possibilities this world has to offer. I would also hope that
it will inspire you to be the mom, dad, or individual you desire to be.
As a mother, I know how important TIME is, so I have written a book without all the fillers. I believe that hearing how others have
succeeded is an important motivator, but you can read these success stories any time at my web site,
therefore you will only find a few references to such in this book. Instead, I am giving you the basics to really get your mind
ticking, and to help you find solutions to everyday work-at-home problems. I am also going to be providing you with many resources to
help you get started today. With that in mind, I hope I have written a book worthy of your TIME.
As we grow up, we are led to believe that we must know exactly what we want out of life. We are told to work hard, to stay on course,
and to make sacrifices so that our goals or dreams become a reality. We push hard towards those goals, then hit midlife crises because
we are dissatisfied and feel trapped. We become afraid of the unknown and afraid to take chances, so we continue to follow the same
course.
But what if we simply aren’t happy? What if we reach our goals only to find out we are lost? What if we achieve our dream and find out
it wasn’t all it was cracked up to be? What if we reach our dream and realize it’s not fun anymore? What if we get there and our dream
is great, but there is still something missing? What if we get there to find it was someone else’s dream we were living? Do we live
our lives simply existing because we worked so hard to get to where we are, or do we reach out and grab life?
We can look at dissatisfaction as a chance to try something new, or we can live miserably by keeping to what we already know. It is my
hope that you will see the many possibilities that await you. I believe that we have the God-given right to make changes in our lives,
as changes are needed. I also believe that our changes should be family decisions, because once we are married, we are no longer one
individual but a unit of one.
If I can get only one thing across to you, I hope it is the understanding that nothing is set in stone and nothing is ever wasted. With
each experience, we have learned something new and shaped the individual we are to become. With each experience, failure or success, we
have something to learn and something to teach others.
Dare to Dream Dare to Challenge Life Dare to Succeed
I plan to weave my personal story throughout this book, because I want you to understand that you are not alone in your struggle to make
a well-informed decision or in your desire to balance home and dreams. You are also not alone in wanting more from your life or wanting
to change course midstream.
This book is interactive. I will ask questions throughout the book. Where you see ample space to write an answer, I encourage you to
do so. It is important to take the time to pause in your reading and answer the questions when you see them. I set the book up this
way because often we read something that sparks revelation in our minds and those revelations give seed and understanding to what we are
all about. Really reflect on your life and the question at hand, then answer from your heart. Don’t worry what others will think or
say, because they will never read your answers, unless you so desire.
And don’t forget to check out our resources throughout the book, and indexed in the back, as there are some wonderful books and web
sites designed to help you succeed as a Work-at-Home Parent! Please remember, when choosing a home business, to choose something that
reflects your beliefs, morals, and personality.
Good Luck!
