ebook coverShopping as a mystery shopper was way out of my comfort zone, but boy was it fun! There's nothing like walking into a store or restaurant knowing that everything you buy or eat is on someone else's dime. And what's even more exciting is knowing that your report can make a difference the next time you shop there.

When I first discovered mystery shopping, I worried about it being "for real" but after a few shops and a few paychecks later, the skeptism died. The more I shopped, the better I got and the better I got the easier it was for me to turn down shops that didn't fit my comfort zone or time table and work shops that offered me the best bang for my time and efforts. As time went on, I began introducing friends and family members to the concept--but, like me, they were skeptics. So I wrote the book.

When I first introduced mystery shopping to a friend, she went through hoops coming up with every conceivable reason why this was a hoax. But believing I wouldn't steer her wrong, she not only read the e-book, she sent in her application. The next thing she knew, she had an assignment!

She followed the directions outlined in this e-book, completed her first assignment, and waited for payment. She didn't think the payment would come―but it did. In fact, she found it so easy, she fell in love with mystery shopping!

Since that first shop, she went on to shop for several other companies until she landed a regular, weekly gig. In fact, with only one company, on a less than part-time basis, she made $300 per month, plus reimbursement of what she purchased. And she didn't have to drive more than 10 miles from her home! The ironic part is that she never stepped foot in this company's store until the day she started mystery shopping. Now, she's a regular customer and shops the store even when she isn't mystery shopping.

You, too, can take advantage of getting paid to shop. All you have to do is be willing to fill out an online survey, and fax (or mail) your receipts back to the company, then wait for payment.

Mystery Shopping truly can be loads of fun! If you like shopping, trying on new clothes, testing new products, and dealing with customer service reps, you'll love mystery shopping. And if you like the idea of spying on companies, then giving unbiased, honest feedback in detailed writing assignments, you can earn a decent living as a mystery shopper!
