My name is Alyice (uh-lease) and I truly am very happy to have you here. I thought I'd start out by telling you how I got into writing and creating art, then share my list of services. If, however, you'd like to bypass this little spiel, please click on any of the links in the green bar above.
I've been writing and creating art, in one form or another, my entire life. As a young child, I found having a creative outlet to be very therapeutic and healing. Writing gave me a voice when I was too afraid to verbally speak the words, and art allowed me to express myself without fear of judgment. They were my equalizers in life.
As I grew into a young adult, I found my college English classes to be the easiest—but never dreamt of becoming a freelance writer for hire because all I could think about was marrying my Prince Charming and becoming the stereo-typical 50's housewife.
After graduating from college with an associate degree in Business Administration, I married my Prince Charming and together we had a few beautiful children. But as much as I wanted to remain that stereo-typical 50's housewife, writing kept beckoning me... until the day I listened and opened up an online parenting publication, an e-book store and freelance writing service.
As the publisher, editor, and senior writer, I had the unique advantage of seeing just how powerful the written word could be—for my readers, for the business, and even for my writing clients. I learned that sometimes, the hard sell isn't the answer... it's in the relating that matters. And, I discovered that the best read articles are the ones that use a conversational tone and provide lots of juicy substance!
When my youngest child graduated high school, I closed down the award winning parenting publication to make room for more writing and mixed media art—but will be forever grateful for the skills it allowed me to hone and the opportunities it provided.
Today, I work with small business owners, content developers, and eBook authors from all over the United States. I am currently based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, so if you're in the area, and need someone local, look me up!
Please have a look around my office on the web. If you like what you see, and think we might be a good fit, drop me an email so we can discuss your project further.
