11 Uber Simple Tips To Eating Healthier
Eating healthier isn’t just about eating at regular intervals or eating smaller portions. It’s about food choices. The better the choices we make, the better we feel emotionally and physically. And of course, the easier it is to lose the weight and stay healthy.
Choices like:
- Eating until satisfied, not full or stuffed.
- Not eating after 7:30 at night, or at least three hours before bedtime.
- Never, ever skipping meals—no matter how busy you get or how depressed you are.
- Eating three regular sized meals with two snacks a day or eating five to six smaller, more frequent meals throughout the day.
- Drinking more fluids throughout the day, like water and unsweetened ice tea.
- Cutting out sugary drinks like pops and cool-aids—or at least significantly cutting back.
- Avoiding fat supporting foods like: processed or refined foods, fried foods, sugars, and fats. They stay in the body, often being stored in your fat cells, and are harder to burn off.
- Eating more muscle supporting foods like: whole grains, legumes, vegetables, fruits, and complex carbohydrates. They burn off fast and are readily used for energy.
- Choosing lean cut meats. Anything with loin in the name is perfect!
- Eating fish, chicken, and red meats twice a week and going meatless once a week.
- Choosing to make meat the side dish and vegetables, grains, or legumes the main dish.
