By purchasing a pattern sheet from this website you agree to the following terms of use. If you do not agree with the following terms of use, do not purchase a pattern sheet.

You agree to using The Dabbling Mum's tutorials on an "as is" and "without warranty" basis. Furthermore, you acknowledge that you are using the pattern sheets at your own risk.

How are pattern sheets sold?

Pattern sheets are sold with the understanding that the creator of the pattern sheet retains copyright ownership to all images and text contained with the pattern sheet.

You are purchasing the rights to use the pattern sheets for personal use only.

What is a pattern sheet?

A pattern sheet is a collection of line drawings that can be used in various arts and crafts projects. A digital pattern sheet is a file that can be printed on various mediums via a home computer and printer.

All of our pattern sheets are created in-house. Every pattern sheet begins on a piece of sketch paper, then digitally altered by Alyice Edrich.

What is your refund policy?

We have a NO REFUND policy in place. Because of the nature of digital downloads, they are non-returnable. Since you cannot return a digital download, we do NOT offer refunds.

Our products are sold on an "as-is" basis and "without warranty".

We will work with you to help resolve any technical difficulties you may experience regarding your pattern sheet order.

Do you charge sales tax?

We charge sales tax if you reside in the state of South Dakota.

What is your file sharing policy?

You, the buyer, are the only person licensed to have the pattern sheet file. Please do NOT share the file with others.

You cannot distribute it to others, upload it to free sharing sites, license or sublicense it to others, rent or sell it to others, alter it and claim it as your own, or sell projects using images within the sheets.

If your colleagues, friends, family members, or strangers are interested in the pattern sheet, please refer them to our company to purchase their own copy.

What is your copyright policy?

You are purchasing a license to use our pattern sheets for personal use only.

You are NOT purchasing the copyrights to the pattern sheets. These are NOT copyright-free patterns. All copyrights remain with us.

By purchasing our pattern sheets, you are purchasing non-exclusive, non-transferable rights to use the pattern sheets based upon the terms outlined herein. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

What is your usage policy?

Non-Commercial Use: Unlimited non-commercial use is permitted by a single user/buyer.

You may print each purchased pattern sheet an unlimited number of times and use them in limitless personal projects, including tangible gift projects or non-digital items made for swaps where no money exchanges hands. On these terms, our pattern sheets are royalty-free.

As a purchaser of a non-commercial use license, you cannot sell or distribute the pattern sheets, in whole or in part, electronically or in print–ever. And this includes items made with collage sheets, in whole or in part.

Commercial Use: A commercial use license is required, and sold separately.

Commercial use is permitted for a single licensee and per contract terms.

To use the pattern sheets in projects you plan to sell, for use in mass production, for use in classrooms and/or workshops, or for use in catalogs, marketing, or advertising, please inquire about a commercial use license and additional fees.

There is a $10 application fee to apply for a commercial use license.
There is a one-time $25 commercial use set-up fee.
Royalties will be based upon manufacturing size; meaning the indie-crafter turned handcrafted small business owner will pay a much smaller percentage than the large manufacturer.
The terms of the commercial use license are determined on a case-by-case basis.
A legal and binding contract is required for each collage sheet you wish to use for commercial use.
An attribution must be given when displaying pieces created with pattern sheets.

When displaying items at craft fairs, for example, a card must be placed next to items for sale with the folliwing statement: "This item was created using a pattern licensed by TheDabblingMum.com". When displaying projects in e-stores, the same blurb must be included somewhere on the sales page.

Prohibited Use:

Regardless of whether you purchase a non-commercial use license or a commercial use license, you cannot use the pattern sheets, or images within...

as a resale project in and of itself;
as the sole image in a product you plan to sell or distribute freely; including but not limited to, digi stamps, rubber stamps, stencils, templates, transfers, buttons, fabric designs, jewelry, magnets, sticker sheets, digital tools (i.e. borders, frames, layer styles, paintbrushes, tubes), etc.;
to create and sell your own collage or pattern sheets; including but not limited to CD collections, digital compilations, print compilations, or scrapbook kits;
to create modified works and claim the "derivative" works as your own;
to create derivative works, then sublicense those works;
to create products to sell via print-on-demand services such as, but not limited to, Cafe Press or Zazzle;
in trademarks or service marks, or for unlawful practices;
in templates such as, but not limited to, layers within digital templates, auction templates, web design templates, or slideshow templatess;
to share on a network server where others can use the collage sheets;
for obscene, defamatory, libelous, or immoral works;
for any purpose which is prohibited by law.

Publication Use:

Prior consent is needed before you can use our pattern sheets in how-to tutorials for blogs, websites, books, magazines, or other publications.

When using images from the pattern sheets in projects for publication, you MUST include proper attribution and credit.

Proper attribution would be:

Tutorials cannot use the full file size. Sheets, or sections thereof, used online must be resized to no more than 400 pixels wide, and include a copyright notice directly on the image itself.

If your work appears in a credible publication and you mention our company (by name and/or web address) as a resource, let us know. Upon verification, we’d love to offer a small “token gift” (i.e. a free pattern sheet) as our way of saying thank you for spreading the word!

Do I need any special software to view and print my pattern sheet?

Depending on the pattern sheet you purchase, you will either need a pdf reader or a photo-editing software program.

For pdf pattern sheets, you will need a pdf reader, like Adobe Acrobat Reader, to view the file. Pdf files allow everyone to view the pattern sheets provided they use one of the following computers: PC: Microsoft Windows, Macintosh: Apple, or UNIX: Linux.

To view and print the pattern sheets all you have to do is download the files to your computer, then open them with a pdf reader.

You can download the pdf reader, Adobe Acrobat Reader, for free on the following websites:

Download.com and
Adobe.com.

For jpg pattern sheets, you will need a photo-edting software program, like PaintShop or Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, to view the file.

To view and print the pattern sheets all you have to do is download the files to your computer, then open them with a photo-editing software program.

How do I get my pattern sheet order?

After you successfully place an order for your pattern sheet via our order page, you will be automatically redirected to the download page for instant delivery of your order.

Once you place your order, and have clicked on the download link, simply open the file then click "save as" and save the file to your computer.

Do not attempt to print directly from the download.

How do I resolve download issues?

If you run into technical difficulties concerning your pattern sheet, please see if the solution can be answered on one of the bullet points below before emailing us:

My Internet froze before I had a chance to download the file from the download page.
Besides redirecting you to the the download page, our system automatically sends a back-up email with a link to the download page. The link will expire in 36 hours or 3 download attempts.
I wasn't redirected to a dowload page.
If you are not redirected to the download page, check your email for the download link.
I didn't have a chance to download the file right away and I never received an email with the download link.
If you did not receive the back-up email due to spam filters, please contact us immediately.

We will investigate to make sure your order was successfully placed. If it was, we will resend the download link and/or send your collage sheet order via an email attachment.
I received an error message when trying to open the pdf file!
Check to make sure you actually have Adobe Acrobat Reader, or similar pdf reader, on your computer. You may think you have a pdf reader, but if you are having problems opening the file, there's a good chance you don't have it or the one you do have is bad.

If you have an old version that no longer works, you need to delete it off your computer. Turn off your computer, restart it, and then download the newest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is free.
I received an error or download link expired message.
Please understand that our download links expire to prevent unauthorized downloading and/or forwarding of the links. The download page you were taken to clearly states the link will expire in 36 hours. This is done to protect our products from illegal download and distribution. Please contact us with your order number, order date, and the name on your order and we'll be happy to assist you.

If the download link simply doesn't work, forward us the email with your download link, and order information, and we'll investigate the problem.

If the download link expired because you didn't download it within the 36 hour timeframe, we'll send a new download link.

If you've downloaded the file but didn't save it to your computer and the link is now expired, we'll send a new download link.

If you discover that you're still having problems with your pattern sheet order, please do not hesitate to contact us. No matter how reliable we like to believe technology is, it sometimes fails. Just drop us an email and explain the problem you're having. We'll see what we can do to help resolve the issue.

How do I resolve printing issues?

Each pattern sheet comes as a high resolution pdf file... ready for unlimited printing possibilities. The quality of the print is determined by the type of printer you own, the ink you use, the paper stock you purchase, and the resolution/size you choose to print the collage sheet.

Our pattern sheets are intended to be printed on a small scale.

While our pattern sheets are 8.5" x 11", the images contained within the pattern sheets range from 1" in diameter to 2" x 3" to 4" x 6" to 5" x 7" to full 8.5" x 11" background sheets.
You can resize the entire pattern sheet, but you cannot resize the images within the pattern sheets individually.
Choose good paper stock when printing your pattern sheet. Select a paper with a high paper brightness rating (in the 90s) as it will allow the images to appear more vibrant, and clear.
Use a paper designed to show the best image quality for your project. Look for papers with at least 28 lb paper weight. And avoid using copy paper to print your collage sheets as the paper quality is poor and that will reflect upon the images you print.
Test an image on your printer by using the best photo or high quality setting available. Using grayscale, draft, or text will ruin the quality of the image and produce poor results.
If you don’t have a good home printer, use a commercial printer like Kinko’s, Office Max, or Staples. Commercial printers use laser printing which result in a higher quality color print than using an inkjet printer designed for home use.

Can I get a hard copy of the pattern sheet I ordered?

No. Pattern sheets are distributed via automatic download or email attachment only. We do not have hard copies, or print versions, of our pattern sheets.

What if I fail to comply with your terms of use?

Failure to comply with our terms of use will revoke your license to use our pattern sheets, and you will not be given a refund.
