Review
Inspired by an article entitled, “Lessons from Aunt Grace.” Karen O’Connor discovers six precepts that change her life forever:

  1. Do something for someone else.
  2. Do something for yourself.
  3. Do something you don’t want to do.
  4. Do a form of physical exercise.
  5. Do a form of mental exercise.
  6. End each day with an original prayer.
It’s those precepts that form the basis of her book, Squeeze The Moment. In Squeeze The Moment, Karen turns each precept into a chapter, offers a bit of wisdom on the subject, then shares short stories and personal essays that reflect the true meaning of each precept.

What I appreciated most about this book is Karen’s candidness. It’s one thing to give readers a list of things to do, telling them why it works, and then sending them on their way to figure out how to apply it to their lives and it’s another to open up your heart and mentor your readers through applicable life stories that show how to put that list into action—and that, my dear readers, is what Karen does.

I related to Karen on so many levels that I felt as though God had given her insight into my soul. It was also refreshing to read some of her blunders—the same blunders I’ve made—and discover how she used them to become a better Christian instead of allowing the guilt to rob her of the joy in her life.

If you’re looking for a way to add more meaning in your life, without adding another chore to your already busy schedule, I encourage you to pick up a copy of Squeeze The Moment today.
