The Review
My husband is a big Indiana Jones fan. From the day I met him, nearly twenty years ago, he has had to watch Indiana Jones once a year—minimum. He’s read all the books and comics referencing Indiana Jones and has even made it a point to watch the Young Indiana Jones series. And when Disneyland created the first Indiana Jones ride, we waited hours in line to just to ride the concoction. To my husband, Indiana Jones is the right combination of man—masculine, humorous, adventurous and witty. And to be honest, I can’t disagree. But I’d add one more thing: handsome. Well, maybe, two: he gets better with age!

Harrison Ford jumps right back into his role as Indiana Jones with such ease that you’d never know it’s been nearly twenty years since he played the character. And the movie, well, it seems to have picked up right where it left off.

The film picks up in 1957, two decades after the last film, allowing for a lot of change and aging. Indiana’s been kidnapped and gets caught up in the search for a Crystal Skull—all in hopes of saving the life of another. There’s even a surprise awaiting Indy when he discovers that the young man he’s vowed to help just so happens to be his biological son.

There’s been a lot of hoopla over the fact that the film is “old school” and therefore doesn’t offer anything new and exciting—but that’s what we liked about the film. Though it has been decades since the last Indiana Jones film was created, The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, looks as though it belongs with the series. It looks as though it had been created back then: from the action-packed adventure to the script to the costumes and staging—with one noticeable difference, there are a lot more special effects in this film than its counterparts.

There’s also a lot of hoopla over the fact that the search for the Crystal Skull turns up a flying saucer and aliens; especially since the first three concentrated on religious artifacts. To that I say, “That’s the era people, get over it!” If you do your research, you’ll discover that a lot of people believe the Crystal Skulls (which really do exist) were brought to earth by aliens since no equipment, known to man, has been able to duplicate the process. But that’s another story entirely.

The point is. If you loved the first three, you’re sure to love the fourth so long as you keep things in perspective and don't overanalyze.

Order Indiana Jones and The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skulls today!
