Xan and his father, Peter, save a cheetah cub after its family is killed by a pride of lions. After the cheetah, affectionately named
Duma, becomes of age, Xan’s father dies, leaving Xan’s mother to return to the city to take care of business, and make arrangements for
someone to take Duma. Angry at the turn of events, Xan leaves home.
Leaving his mother behind, Xan sets out to fulfill his father’s wish—to reintroduce Duma in the wild and help him learn to survive on
his own. Along the way, Xan faces many hardships: encountering harsh weather, strong rapids, wild boars, a pride of lions, and even
running out of food and water. But no matter what obstacle he faces, he’s determined to complete his father’s wishes and set his friend free.

The first time I watched Duma, I was multi-tasking. Let’s just say it wasn’t a good idea—I had absolutely no idea what was going on. A
few days later I put Duma into the DVD player and gave it my undivided attention. What a difference! It truly is a wonderful family film
that was highly under-marketed.
Duma is a remarkable film about a young boy’s journey into manhood and the depth of true friendship. If you’re expecting a fast-action
