Have you ever wondered what all the hype is concerning Pilates? Have you ever wished someone would tell you exactly what those moves were designed to do and how to do them properly? Are you a new mom looking to get back into shape—gently and slowly? Are you someone who has had a Caesarean section and need help rebuilding those stomach muscles? Did you have a child years ago and want to get that flabby stomach back into shape?

If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions, Pilates For Moms is for you!

Pilates For Moms is broken up into eight sections:

  1. Introduction
  2. Post birth 0-6 weeks
  3. Post birth 6 weeks to 4 months
  4. Post birth 4 months and longer
  5. Multilevel warm-up
  6. Yoga breathing exercises
  7. Relaxation techniques
  8. Ask the expert: Need answers to your body’s health questions? You’ll find them in this section.
While you can’t help but be captivated by Lindsey’s accent, it’s her calm voice and knowledge that make this a great video for beginners. Lindsey takes the time to break down each Pilates step, explain what to do as well as what not to do, how to make adjustments if your body simply isn’t ready for certain moves, and how to progressively advance to the next level of the same move.

My only critique would be this: I'd like to see the instructions shown in a separate segment instead of during the actual exercises or have two options. One with the instructions during the actual exercise and one without the instructions; because quite frankly, after watching the video several times, the explanations can become annoying and take away from the overall benefit of the program.

While Lindsey may not be sitting in your living room helping you perform each exercise correctly, her hands-on approach makes you feel as though she is! Yes, it's designed for mothers who've recently had babies, but Session 2 is geared more towards those who've had babies quite awhile ago. So if you’ve always wanted to give Pilates a try, pick up a copy of Pilates For Moms today.
