STATEMENT OF FAITH
Land of the Free
We are truly privileged to live in a country that allows us to freely share our religion and our faith, yet every day I see our God-given
right to worship our Lord and Savior dwindle away with so much "busyness" that even I push God off to the side and find
that my relationship with Him gets lost in the shuffle. And let us not talk about the and "politics" of pushing God out of our
country and the turmoil that results...
Claiming Our Birthright
That's why The Dabbling Mum® has decided to take a stand and claim our birthright and pronounce our faith to
the world and ask others to do the same.
But before we can accept the Christian testimonies and articles of others, we need to make sure your faith aligns with the faith
outlined in the Holy Bible.
God
We believe in one God: the true God. We believe that God is all-powerful, all-knowing, the father of mankind, and the ruler of the
universe.
Jesus Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that He was and is the son of God. We believe that He was born to the virgin Mary. We believe
that Jesus lived a sinless life and suffered many trials while in human form. We believe that He died for our sins, was resurrected, and
now sits at the right hand of God. We believe that Christ will return.
Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit. We believe the Holy Spirit was sent by God to give us new life. We also believe the Holy Spirit was
sent to live within us to teach us, guide us, empower us, and help us live a life that is aligned with God's will.
The Bible
We believe that the Bible was inspired by God and written by man. We believe that both the Old and New Testaments are accurate accounts
of what happened so many years ago and that both scientific studies and anthropological studies can prove the existence of Jesus Christ
and the many historical facts mentioned in the Bible.
The Choice Is Yours
Whether you've backslidden in your faith (Luke 15:11-31) or haven't yet given your life over to Christ, it's never too late to ask for
forgiveness and allow Christ into your life (Revelation 3:20).
To Receive Christ As Your Personal Lord and Savior
- Admit that you're a sinner.
(Romans 3:23)
- Repent of your sins. Ask for forgiveness.
(Luke 3:4-18, 1 John 1:8-10)
- Acknowledge with your mouth that Christ Jesus died for your sins and rose again to give you eternal life.
(Romans 6:23, Romans 10:9, John 3:16)
- Invite Christ to come into your heart, and through the Holy Spirit help you live a Godly life.
(Romans 5:8, Romans 10:13, 1 John 5:12-13)
- Seek baptism.
(Matthew 3:11, Matthew 28:19, Mark 1:9, John 1:32-33, Acts 2:38, Acts 8:12-17, Romans 6:3-8, 1 Peter 3:21)
- Trust that Christ will lead you.
Prayer
What should you pray? You can say a prayer as simple as:
Dear Jesus,
I am a sinner. Please forgive me of my sins. I believe that you are the son of God, that you died for my sins, and that you want a
better life for me. I believe that with your help, I can turn from my sinful ways. Please come into my heart. Please help me change
my life. I want to follow you and your ways.
In Jesus' Holy Name,
Amen
Or you can pray a more detailed prayer accounting for all your known sins and sins you didn't even know you made. You can ask Christ to forgive
you of each one of your sins, acknowledge that He is the Lord of your life, and that you want to be more like
Him. And trust Him to help you change
your life and your ways, to meet His needs and His will.
