Yes! We pay writers and craft designers.

Article fees and publication rights, however, are non-negotiable.

To receive payment, your article must never have been and/or never will be given away for free. Please understand no one wants to pay for an article that could have been received for free.

Unless otherwise noted, all articles should be between 500 to 1,500 words.

$20 Original Article Fee

Unpublished article with or without expert quotes and sources.
Buys first-time electronic (online) rights with 3-month online exclusivity and indefinite non-exclusive online archival rights.
Author may sell reprints to offline publishers immediately after publication.

$40 Original Article Fee

Unpublished article with or without expert quotes and sources.
Buys exclusive electronic (online) rights with indefinite online archival rights.
Author may sell reprints to offline publishers immediately after publication, but may not sell any reprints of the same article to online publishers. This includes, but is not limited to: blogs, websites, or newsletters that are archived online.

$120 Year-In-Advance Columns Fee

Buys 12 original articles to be used once a month or in a 12-part series.
Article length: 500 words each.
Unpublished article with or without expert quotes and sources.
Buys first-time electronic (online) rights with one-month online exclusivity and indefinite non-exclusive online archival rights.
Author may sell reprints to offline publishers immediately after publication.

$5 Reprint Article Fee

Buys reprints of articles that have not appeared online before.
Buys first-time electronic (online) rights with one-month online exclusivity and indefinite non-exclusive online archival rights.
Author may sell reprints to offline publishers immediately after publication.

$15 Reprint Article Fee

Buys reprints of articles that have not appeared online before and will not appear online in the future.
Buys exclusive electronic (online) reprint rights with indefinite archival rights.
Author may sell reprints to offline publishers immediately after publication, but may not sell any reprints of the same article to online publishers. This includes, but is not limited to: blogs, websites, or newsletters that are archived online.

$0 Article Reprint Fee

Author donates article or tutorial to publication and retains all rights.
Publication buys no rights.
Publication has permission to archive piece indefinitely.
Author may distribute the article or tutorial for free in the future or has already done so in the past.

$0 Review Fee

Author donates review to publication and retains all rights.
Publication buys no rights.
Publication has permission to archive piece indefinitely.

$0 Image Usage Fee

Craft designers, party planners, and recipe writers, are required to include images with their submissions. (new for 2012)
Author donates image to accompany submitted article.
Publication is given non-exclusive electronic (online) rights and indefinite non-exclusive online archival rights.

$5 Image Usage Fee

Image used to accompany an existing article that currently has no image associated with it.
Contributer receives attribution for image used.
Buys non-exclusive electronic (online) rights and indefinite non-exclusive online archival rights.

Interviews: We do not accept outside Q&A interviews, nor do we pay for them. The editor of this publication conducts all interviews.
Poetry: We do not accept, nor do we publish poetry of any kind.
